Hello!
I’m Kaelen, a graphic designer and writer, which primarily means that I’m in the business of being curious. Whether branding, editorial layouts, or social media advertising, my process always begins with asking questions. My deep love for the outdoors, literature, and meeting new people imbue the rest of my design practice as sources of inspiration and reminders that there is always something new to learn!

My professional design work includes work for Pratt Institute’s Communication Design Department, VAAN Group, the Missouri Botanical Gardens, spreading my work from branding and layout design to advertising and art direction. After finishing my MFA in communications design in New York City, I moved back to the Midwest where I have continued fueling my curiosity by diving into the world of design for trade shows and freelancing for a variety of small businesses.

When I’m not behind my laptop, I can usually be found trying a new hobby (my current interest is linocut prints) or out on a run with an audio book.
